The Fully Funded METI Japan Internship Program 2025 offers an opportunity for students and professionals from developing countries to gain practical experience in Japanese companies. Organized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the program aims to promote international collaboration and support the globalization of Japanese businesses.

Internship Benefits
Round-trip economy-class airfare
Accommodation during the internship period
Daily allowance: ¥3,000/day for in-person; equivalent of ¥1,000/day in local currency for online
Internship insurance coverage
Provision of necessary equipment (e.g., laptop, mobile phone)

Pre-training sessions covering cross-cultural understanding, crisis management, business Japanese, and career development
Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship of an OECD/DAC-listed country (excluding the People’s Republic of China)
Aged between 18 and 40 years as of August 25, 2025
Currently enrolled in or graduated from a higher education institution
Proficiency in English or Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher)
Not currently residing in Japan
No prior participation in the METI Internship Program from FY2016 to FY2024
Ability to commit fully to the internship schedule
